Why Outsource Anything as a Wholesaler?

I keep seeing these posts about outsourcing cold calls, marketing, etc, but why? Most starting in wholesaling are just starting out right or what am I missing?

Just a rough analogy....if you wanted to start remodeling your home, you certainly could. You might not know how to paint well, and it could take you 4 times as long as you planned for, and may not look professional. But that's okay, because you did it yourself, saved some money and get to look at the fruit of your labor every day.

Most people outsource to compensate for either a skill they lack or because their time is better spent elsewhere. Starting out in wholesaling, would you prefer to spend your time learning how to be a marketer or doing deals? Answering calls or going on appointments?

Wholesaling should be treated like any other business, play to your strengths, compensate for the weaknesses. And for those who take the work on as someone you can outsource to, dont begrudge them...they provide skills and services for pay.

Doctors fix people, mechanics fix cars, plumbers keep things moving When I am sick, and have a need for healthcare, I go to the doctor, not med school. If my car isnt running.... well....you get it. Crude analogies at best. A marketer job isnt to sell you marketing, it's to generate leads. No leads. No wholesales.

@Marisa Aceves If you have a day job and can't cold call or do marketing activities during that day job, then that could be a reason to outsource a lot of things in the beginning. Also some people are just better at networking in-person vs cold calling, so they outsource the things they don't want to do. Is it worth it to do in the beginning? Depends because a cold caller is only as good as the script you give them. If you make a few calls, never get a deal then decide you will outsource it, what makes you think they will do any better than you? If you do it yourself then you can get feedback and adapt your pitch to get better over time.

Okay that's what I thought, I just can't believe a lot of others that are just getting started want to outsource everything.

I get it, save time, but what motivates those getting started to delegate everything...

You are not missing a thing.

Ask yourself who is making money from the direct mail or call center or whatever.  Most people start doing things on their own, and outsource as they get too busy to do it all themselves, which is organic growth.

It does take some time to make a name for oneself, and become able at finding houses.  Often a VA is the first hire, but not too many are able to hire an acquisitions manager, a disposition manager, a marketing director, and all the rest...right out the gate.
