who should I use for DIRECT MAIL SERVICES??

Hey guys I'm wanting to market to some cash buyers in my area using direct mail. I think I have heard that some direct mail services can insert the cash buyers name into the script you use on the postcard based off the list you send them. Has anyone heard of anything like that? Who do you guys use to send out your direct mail?

I haven't been doing this for very long but am happy with click2mail.com so far for sending postcards that include the name of the recipient in the message (I'm using property address as well when I'm mailing to absentee owners).  This "personalization" option is only available with their "mail now" option (as opposed to selecting a later date for the mail to go out), and the same is true for sending quantities of less than I think 2000.  It takes just a bit of fiddling to learn their interface but once you do it's super easy.  I've been sending out small batches and they are running me ~50c / card and go out the next day.  Good luck!

There are quite a few mailing companies with the ability to personalize the text. "print on demand" has become much more prevalent over the earlier tech where they printed full sheets of the same thing then cut to size. Set up is so much more, so you had to get big orders to bring the cost per piece down. Personalized info would be ink-jetted on to the letter or post card on a second run along with the address.

The newer computer driven printers are able to make small runs and personalize each document.  For example, in addition to putting someones name on a postcard,  an advertiser might use post cards with pictures that match the demographics of the recipient. Seniors would get pictures of seniors, and young hispanics would get pictures of... well you get the picture.

You could also print letters and mailing labels from MS Word using the mail merge function - if you want to take the time.

Do you already have your list? Many printers will offer lists, but their primary expertise is printing and mailing. Think about working with a mailing list broker who can suggest various list segments in addition to the usual Absentee Owners that are already getting a lot of offers in most markets.
