Do you need insurance to protect you from getting sued or anything in wholesaling?
There is a saying.
“You don’t need insurance. Until you do.”
In other words, it would probably be risky to not have some liability insurance.
Depends on how you are executing your business. If you are assigning contracts or completing the transaction without ever taking title to the property, you don’t need insurance. Your car insurance covers you while driving and so long as you don’t have employees, no insurance needed there either. Nothing will prevents someone from suing you for completing a wholesale deal in which they claim you mislead, committed fraud, or did anything that violates any laws or regulations, so your protection from that is doing everything legally and above board.
So many are currently performing wholesale deals illegally so start there and make sure your format and state laws for your desired format are legal.
