I would love to know how you guys learned how to wholesale properties.

What did you guys do in order to get your first deal?

I would love to learn a step to step process in order to get my first deal done.

Thank you !

@Michael Nevarez,

Pay attention to these posts.  They're great information!

I think I had already learned a lot from a local group that teaches wholesaling.  I took a three-day boot camp with this program and learned a lot!  Then someone recommended the book, "If you can't wholesale after this... I've got nothing for you."  I thought this was a really good book.  I didn't agree with it 100%, which only proved the point to me that there are different ways of doing things.  Still, I think this book does a really good job of laying out the process.

There are some things that are really easy, like connecting with buyers at your local REI meetings. But you need to understand the process, and that takes some education.

You don't have to be an expert in everything, but you do need to know the basics to get started.

I found that along the way (which so far is a very short path for me), I found there were things that were preventing me from making progress.  Each time I recognized an obstacle, I did what I needed to do to remove it.  For example, I felt like I couldn't make an offer if I didn't have a good relationship with a title company.  I called a lawyer who didn't understand wholesaling, but he recommended a company.  It was a bust.  No one there understood wholesaling.  Then I asked investors and found there were plenty.  I contacted one, and since then, have found more.  Obstacle removed.

Keep at it.  Keep learning.  Keep doing.
