When do you get the assignment fee when assigning a purchase contract?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

No, usually you get paid at closing. Typically you get a deposit when signing the assignment contract. Ideally that should be enough to cover the deposit you gave the owner/seller originally. Then the assignment fee is collected at settlement.

Most buyers do not want to pay your full assignment fee up front becuase the deal may not close. It's obviously to your advantage to get all or as much money up front as possible.

It comes down to what can you negotiate. Good luck - Ned
