Direct Mailings

Hello group. I have a question about doing direct mailings. The way I have been taught to do them is as follows: I would drive certain neighborhoods, when I would come across vacant properties, I would put a We Buy Houses flyer on the door, and record the address. From their I would go to the county auditor's website, get the name and mailing address of the owner and start with the handwriting yellow letters. Is there a better or more efficient way of going about this is my question?

Willie,

I use a list gathering service, much like listsource.com, and I get a list of absentee owners. It may be a better use of your time.
