How realistic is it to aim for 500k a year doing wholesaling?

Extremely unrealistic, especially if you don't have a serious marketing budget. The vast majority of wholesalers will never do a deal and quit. Of the ones that actually do make a living it's far from 500k/year.
Some cheerleaders may disagree with me and tell you some rah rah success stories. And admittedly it is possible. It's also possible to win the lottery, but again very unrealistic.
