Any experience wholesaling in Detroit and Metro areas

I'm learning how to wholesale properties. My mentor told me that on average wholesalers who wholesale Detroit properties can earn $2k-$3k per deal, but more money can be made in the suburban areas. Does anyone know of any areas in the Detroit suburbs where I can earn more money per deal? I want to carve out a target area somewhere in the suburbs. Thanks.
