Maybe I am a bit biased as Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is in my backyard and the Disneyworld of Golf - but it seems that in the past five years the sport has exploded in popularity and the numbers back it up?
I've read that there are 1M+ more registered golfers since the Pandemic and the fastest growing demographics are 18-35 year olds and women. There is even the rise of 'YouTube golf?'
According to Future Market Insights, The global golf tourism industry is projected to reach approximately $27 billion in 2025 and will expand to around $65.8 billion by 2035, registering a CAGR of 9.3% from 2025 to 2035.
Bandon Dunes reported 27,000 golfers for their 2027 April/May Reservation lottery. That is a lot of demand in a town 3500 without a major luxury hotel.
Of the top ten revenue producing STRs in ALL of Oregon - at least two are in Bandon. Is golf a driver of short term rental occupancy or investment in your area?
