Bad experience with real estate agent in Florida
I have been a fan of BiggerPockets for over five years, and I am currently in the process of relocating to Florida. As part of that move, I used the BiggerPockets forum to find a real estate agent. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing.
The first agent I connected with seemed more focused on getting me to sign a buyer’s agreement than on understanding my needs. I did not feel comfortable with the pressure and decided to look for another agent.
The second agent turned out to be even more frustrating. They referred me to a lender, and I spent nearly a week gathering and organizing all of my financial documents because I own multiple rental properties. After submitting everything, the lender sent me a message saying they would call me, but never did. Two weeks later, the real estate agent acknowledged that the lender had not contacted me and assured me I would hear from them soon. Another three weeks passed, and I still never received a call.
Now I am working with a third agent. We have viewed approximately 15 properties, and I recently told the agent that I was ready to submit a cash offer. However, I am still waiting for the paperwork to be sent so we can move forward.
Overall, my experience with real estate agents in Florida has been surprisingly poor. In New Jersey, I never encountered this level of unresponsiveness or lack of follow-through. As a serious buyer who is prepared to make cash offers, the delays and lack of communication have been extremely frustrating.
