About to retire from job to Austin
Hello everyone in BP-Land. I'm Neil Hicks, and I'm about 18 months (and a year in Afghanistan...) away from retiring after spending a long time in the US Air Force. I plan on relocating to the Austin area after I retire.
I guess I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up, and the thought of real estate investing is pretty intriguing. I'd like to establish a foundation on which to build long term wealth, while still keeping income producing options open.
I'm not set on the type of investing I'd like to pursue, as I'm still brand new to the game. If I had to pick something, the thought of renting small multi-family units sounds appealing, as does wholesaling. At this point, though, I'm pretty flexible.
I think I've said enough for now! I'm just glad to be here, excited and looking forward to learning as much as I can from you all.

Thank you for your service to our country and GODspeed on whatever comes next for you. BP would surely be a wise ground zero for any niche in real estate investing. As you get into listening to podcasts and reading the BP blogs , you can start out in one aspect and flex to another (such as becoming a landlord and doing the occasional wholesale deal for example). That's the beauty in this business, the flexibility at will. In any event, happy networking, prosperous investing and welcome to BP.
