newbie from south-central PA (Dillsburg)

Hello.  My name is Matt.  I am a numbers guy with a degree in accounting.

I am completely new to the world of real estate investing but feel it would be a nice addition to my passive income portfolio. 

I am specifically interested in the buy-and-hold strategy although I'm not sure whether I want to pursue single family residences or multi-unit properties.

Based on my (currently) limited knowledge, I think my biggest obstacles are:

• figuring out the local market (best area, rent, etc.).
• actually taking the plunge if/when an opportunity presents itself.
