I'm working on something cool for BP and I'd love to get some input from the community. Basically, I'm just wondering - in 50ish words or less, what has Real Estate Investing done for you?

What's changed in your life because of it?

It has given me a passion and purpose I did not know that I had, freeing me from a mundane corporate life. Both my husband and I were able to quit our jobs and travel, taking 10 weeks of vacation this year to live the life we have always dreamed of.

It's given me something to save all my money for to spend it on, and hopefully use the leverage and cashflow to build wealth and have a very early retirement.

Find a definite passion, a purpose and an opportunity to learn from inspiring fellow investor. It also allowed me to do good for my family and people around me.

Real Estate investing has unlocked a dormant part of my subconscious, altering my mindset from “just putting forth enough effort to survive” to “going above and beyond the current status quo’s in order to achieve the massive levels of success I have always dreamed of!”

Allowed me to be my own boss, start a 4 businesses and take control of my own destiny. Long term it will pay for my kids private High School and College Education.

It's giving me a livelihood I'm passionate about! In my mid-to-late 40s I'd reached the top of my profession but was still working for someone; I am now my own Boss and 100% responsible for my success or failure. I wish that realization had come sooner...

I just started out and am glad to have more freedom. As a graduate with a 6-figure student loan, investing made it possible for me to take control and tackle that down. Ever since then, I'm glad to be going into this lifestyle not only because of financial freedom but I'm able to give more financially for my family and the community I'm in.

It has given me some more freedom to be myself at work. I am a high school teacher full time. A lot of my colleagues fell pressured to "kiss a$$" to our supervisors instead of doing what they feel is right for our kids because they are worried about getting marked down on their evaluations and therefore getting less of a raise.
I don't need their raises because I make that from my rentals. And I feel good about standing up to "the man" when that's the right thing to do. Easy decision! I don't need to be their favorite employee.

Thanks Brandon. Here is how real estate has changed my life (50 words or less):
The days of the week don’t matter. I pick my kids up from school every day. We have no debt (I mean zero including no mortgage). Now it has led me down a path to help others accomplish the same for themselves which is the greatest reward of all.

It has shown me a way out of the "get a good education, get a good job, work hard and try and move up" mindset. I now work toward my own goals rather than being used to work toward someone else's.

A new path that challenges me mentally, physically and makes me more creative. I see the future and how reachable it is. The passive income has made life more pleasant.

I can use the help over here. I am 25 and a noob in real estate investing so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would love to hear about your story and how you have come to this point. I would like to be able to get to a point in life where I can help others succeed in the field as I have in my current field in the Automotive industry.

Realestate Investing has made me think much differently about my future. It has made me feel more in control of my financial future. I don't worry about pay cuts, loss of overtime, or the uncertainty of what will I do after I retire. It has completely changed my way of thinking.

Well.....I am still in the rat race with the same employer, drive the same car, live in the same house, get my 3 weeks vacation a year, and I am still not rich or wealthy from real estate. However..........real estate has convinced me this won't be forever. I negotiate $100M contracts for stuff I can't even mention in my day job and it can feel like I am wasting my life. On the other hand, I get big fat goose bumps over a relatively simple $55K purchase, $10K rehab, $90k appraisal, refi most of my money back out and $1050 monthly rent.

Real estate investing has provided me with an escape route. An escape from the norm, the "expected", and showed me a path less traveled. It made me think, "why build someone else's business, or dream, instead of my own?" So now I'm minding my own business!

would dislike ( Mc Donald’s , Wal-Mart, etc)
-> Reduce my personal debt
-> Provide the endless knowledge what a payday/car title loans due to
someone bank account. ( interest rates )
-> Help few individuals create long term wealth
Real estate is a team sport -> myself a temporary basketball fixed

Real Estate investing is totally shaping my life and the lives of those around me. It scares me to death to think about the older people in our society that have to work to pay their bills but can't make it. I want to be a good steward of the time that I have been given so I can spend time pouring into others. Real Estate investing has and will allow me and my family that in the future! It's not about the $ it makes this year, it's about the $ it makes in 20 years!

It had given me the opportunity to be my own boss, manage my own time, meet new people, provide more for my family and most especially looking forward for an early retirement in few years from now. This is my passion and I love every bit of this decision I made. No regrets at all.

It's brought passion back into my life and given me a strong connection with almost everyone I meet. My friends, my family, my neighbours, my community at large. Everyone seems to love to talk about real estate.

Taken me to Australia, South America, Central America all over the United States. It has allowed me to live a life on my terms, seeing family frequently and allowing the opportunity to make a difference in others lives.

It lets me live a life on my terms.

Real Estate Investing has given me an opportunity to gain financial freedom...but more importantly, time freedom. Time is my most valuable asset...time with family, time with friends, time to do what I want, time to be with who I want, time to live how I want and time to be who I am.

@Brandon Turner well knowing no other form of income its what I do ,, who I am , and what I will always be.. A real Estate entrepreneur in whatever venue avails itself in a given market and market conditions.

It gives me hope! Some days I dread going into work but when I think about my investments, I realize that I'm working towards a very rewarding goal of building a real estate empire.
