Earlier today we fixed a problem that we were notified about last night. The problem, though, is that that issue had been happening for almost a week!
If You Find a Problem with the Site, Let Us Know! Don't assume that we know about the problem, unless we mention it here in the Announcement forum.
If we don't hear from you, we may not know that the problem is happening.
Often times, these problems are very minor, and are limited to a specific browser or operating system. We can usually fix them right away.
How To Notify Us of the Problem - Get in touch via the contact us link at the bottom of all pages on the site.
- PM me.
- Create a thread in this forum and let us know what is happening.
Some Keys in Letting us Know What is Wrong - Make sure you are DETAILED in your message.
- Include the URL of the page in question of what is wrong.
- Include the Browser (IE, Firefox, Safari) your are using (including version) and the Operating System (Windows Vista, Windows XP, OS.X, etc.).
- Send us a screencast of the problem as it happens on the site. This is VERY EASY to do using the free website: http://www.screenr.com/. Just go to that site and click record. In a new tab or window on your browser, open BiggerPockets and demonstrate the problem. Finally, email the video to us at the address above.

Hi there,
I like to print the post / blogs that I find interesting.
However, and I dont know if this is a site problem or my browser/computer but lately I have been having problems doing so. When I send something to print some of the printed pages show no content.
By the way, I print so that I can read at my reading time in the morning and not in the monitor, is this allowed?

Michael - You mean the spammy scum? You can just report them using the report link on their profile or on any spammy posts they make. Programming issues can be sent to me by PM, email or can be posted.

The BiggerPockets screens have a fairly complex layout. Various browsers handle this in different ways when formatting the HTML text into printable pages. You may just need to select which pages to print and print only the ones that have what you want to read. The print formatting in firefox looks OK to me, but only a subset of the pages are needed to get the entire content of the thread.

Of course you realize this is an excellent reason to go buy an iPad or some other tablet. That way you can read when and where you want without having to be in front of your monitor. :-)

Nope. But I looked at the formatting. This thread, up to the point before my iPad note, takes 10 pages to print. Sorry, but I think that's a huge waste of paper to print out. Yes, the formatting could be improved, but I suspect most people would not make that a very high priority for your programmers.
But, yes, I am dealing with some printing-from-a-browser issues in the day job. Its bad enough dealing with just getting all the different browsers to display properly. Formatting for printing is really a pain.

I just went and looked at two other forums I frequent. The print output is very similar. There's lots of empty space. Its tighter if you cut and paste just the thread content into word, but even that still consumes a lot of space for avatars, signatures, buttons and such.

I can't seem to get unsubscribed from a forum topic either by removing the check mark at the start of it or from my account & clicking on the x. The thread is on who is full time investors.

When I un-check it - it disappears. I go to next page and it is there so repeat and go back to the forums. Just got 3 more messages for that thread. Clicking on the red X asks me if I am sure then I click on OK and nothing happens after that. I am using IE-9 and have also tried Google Chrome - nothing worked.

Is there any way of marking the threads that require PRO membership to post a reply. Several times I have typed in a post and hit submit to post and then get the message that you have to be a PRO to post on that thread.

Just wanted to let you know that whenever I try to use the search function I get an error. Also for some reason my signature doesn't show up in any of my posts. Maybe these are both because I just signed up but I thought I would check.

Nick Richardson - Can you please be more clear about what is happening with the search issue? What page are you on? Are you selecting one of the menu items on the search dropdown? What are you entering? What is the error that you're getting? Thanks.
