Orlando - Vacation Rental - Just starting out

I am looking putting in an offer on Orlando property in Kissimmee area. I intent to rent it as a vacation rental - would this be a good strategy?

Have folks had success in renting out properties, especially it seems like a very competative market for vacation rentals.
