RE License & Managing Properties in Ohio

I have a question. I've read multiple times that in order for me to 'manage a property' (meaning, I'd own a rental unit, SF or MF) in Ohio I need to have a real estate license. Assuming that's true, when or at what point does this become effective? let me explain what I mean with two examples..

#1 -I buy a quad. I live in one and rent out the other three. Do I need a license to manage my quad?

#2 -I buy a SF. Rehab it and a year later, rent it and move out. Do I need a license to manage my SF?
