Primary home basement rental housing ordinance

Hello all BP members,

This is more of a house hacking question on a primary home one lives in for my area in Maryland- Montgomery county in particular.  If I like to rent my basement with a full Kitchen which was finished by a private contractor; I heard about the housing ordinance and inspection coming into place causing restriction having landlord to remove the stove from the basement when renting.  Can some give insight on that aspect.  Thank you.
