AIRBNB Start up and Expectations for Winter-Chicago
I'm thinking about converting a rental unit to an airbnb in Chicago-Logan Square. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for cleaning service, general tips. I'm also concerned about how much the winter will slow down in Chicago or other cold winter places. Thanks for all feedback.

@Vijay Prabhakaran - Finding a good cleaner is paramount. We have been successful with individuals vs going with recognizable cleaning companies. They need to be available when you need them, which typically means that you need to treat them right. One stray hair in a bathroom and you can say goodbye to your 5-star rating.
The biggest recommendation that I can give you is to check out your zoning and applicable laws. It isn't cheap to furnish an entire place and it would be disappointing to find out after the fact that the city/county/HOA doesn't allow STRs.
I really like to focus on renters that plan to stay 14+ days. You might be surprised at how large the transient workforce is in your area. Check out similar AirBnB postings and look at their calendars - are they booked up?
