Airbnb / Short term rentals in Ontario

Does anyone have any experience in Airbnb rentals in Ontario (outside of Toronto). I was renting a unit in Toronto through Airbnb and was making about double rent I would have made through long-term renting and then the condo board changed the rules to ban short-term rentals.  I am looking at buying something in a smaller town a couple hours east of Toronto where I will be moving and I'm not sure how Airbnb would hold up through the winter months.
