Investing in Midtown area, Houston TX
hey BP family....
Anyone investing in the Houston area? I'm looking into investing in the midtown area and was wondering if there are investors/residents of Houston that are familiar with the area and what your thoughts are. Houston is an oil-driven market, so when oil price goes down, layoffs are inevitable. And of course, when oil price rises then it's a booming economy... at least from the little I know about Houston...
please give me your take on what you think about Midtown or the museum district, specifically.

Midtown is great if you can find a property that makes sense. The market has been hot. Older places have been bought up for redevelopment or bid up by investors as a buy/hold.
I have a few hundred units in midtown. Even my really old small studio units stay 100% occupied with a wait list.
Houston has heavily diversified. Oil doesn't cause the same disruptions as 20 years ago.
If you put something under contract and want my take feel free to ask. I'm sure it'll be a place I've looked at before (if not owed at one point :)
