How much do CoStar, Xceligent, and other CRM databases cost?

Question

I am considering buying a subscription to Costar, Reonomy, Loopnet, or another CRM database. Seems like there's a lot out there, and some do not offer pricing information. Can anyone share there experiences? What they are paying for any of these products or ones I haven't mentioned? Thanks!

Costar is thousands of dollars a month. I would start with a free crm tool. They can be found online.

I just went through a nightmare cancelling their service. It is almost laughably expensive for what you get. Their customer service is horrifying. I was told by the sales MANAGER that if I didn't want to pay $395/mo for their product that "maybe it's time to step back and re-evaluate as a CRE professional."

If you are looking for data on a apecific market as an investor I would just get in touch with an active broker in the area. Most will gladly provide you with it.

@Gregory Smaldone What type of information exactly are you looking for?

I'm not a broker, just a "casual investor" and I have recently been using reonomy. It has information about commercial properties only . Reonomy covers all 50 US States. The information doesn't tell if the property is for sale or not.  In addition, it has expanded owner information, which is what I was looking for. reonomy offers a 3 day free trial, which you can use to test drive the platform. You can export a certain number of owner information into a spreadsheet. They are continuously expanding their offering.

Xcelligent has been shut down for good following a nasty lawsuit with CoStar. They are alleged to have stolen data ...

Have never used CoStar. I have used Loopnet, which has properties that are for sale. Doesn't tell much about the owner of the property.

Costar and Loopnet have vary levels of plans and data.

I created my own commercial database of retail owners. Took many years to do it but worth it.

Those companies tend to lock you into long contracts. If it is so good then WHY do they have to sell it and lock you in? Just think about that for a minute folks.

Residuals is what can suck a business dry. That makes other companies rich. Learn how to create your own systems and databases so you control the information you get and what it costs.

I am having a custom back end built for my website. Will likely take 1 year to complete and will take a good amount of cash BUT I like having one system that is EXACTLY what I want for my business. The alternative is to use companies that can change direction of their original platform,sell out, only have a fraction of what you need, updates you need are at the bottom of the list or never get completed as they do mass subscriber items first.

I have had hundreds call from Loopnet and Costar over 14 years in business and they try to sell you stuff all the time. Their employees tend to get bonuses based on what plan you buy. It is very expensive for what it is. They jacked the prices way up when they merged years back.

I would rather take the 500 a month and spend that directly on calling owners myself.

@Percy N. Yes it was a three person account for the LA market. $5k I have no idea what they were quoting you for but it could not have just been CoStar. That's insane.
