Senior Living Care Homes - Recommended groups or forums?

What are the best real estate forums or groups to join to learn more about senior group housing and finding those deals?

Now... regarding seniors. I think it may be a good niche for me on my property in Redding, CA. Originally I began looking at it because i have a 4600 sq. ft. house in Redding, CA that is on 19 acres, with an ADU, and I can also build one more residence.

My husband passed away a few years ago, so I've thought about various uses for the property (Airbnb, B&B, boarding house for (seniors, students, etc.) I've also read on Ross Chapins website regarding pocket neighborhoods, and ran across a concept drawing that had a common area building with kitchen, and individual bedroom suites (he is under the impression that Planning Departments classify a property a residence if it has a kitchen, therefore; it's not the number of bedrooms/baths, it's number of kitchens that push a property up to MFR - though I haven't received an answer from Planning on that yet)

The point is, there are many variables that might be considered in different areas that allow a shared type housing. I know there are many seniors that are still active, but don't necessarily want the burden of caring for a home, and having an opportunity to live in a nice home, sharing costs, might be attractive. For others, they may be more dependent and want the company, plus food, etc. but are not medically dependent. (which requires state licensing of facilities)

Other than for my property, I may consider developing one of these types of housing, because I think there's a need. What have you found out in your search?

I agree it's an interesting niche and no, I did receive any replies or guidance from this forum. My interests would be helping develop the properties, rehabbing or reconditioning existing properties for use and/or locating and securing properties for a build to suite situation.  Thanks!

@Tommy Dalton I ran across your post while looking for another I had read on senior living. Did you ever get any information? I am very interested in this niche too. There are 10,000 people a day turning 65 in U.S. and it's one of the largest market segments in real estate, with people downsizing, etc.  Others want to stay in their homes and rent out rooms, for shared housing.

I am considering developing some type of project for active seniors in a shared housing situation, but haven't made the final decision as to when.

There's also communities that can be developed, pocket neighborhoods, with shared community space, etc. If you go on to Ross Chapins website and click into some of his stuff, read the blog, you can get some ideas.

Did you want to develop some where you live or  what is your interest?
