Accounting -- section 179, bonus depreciation, safe harbors

I'm looking for an accountant who can help me with tax questions specific to landlording, including:

  • Section 179 expensing, safe harbors, bonus depreciation

Will most accountants be very familiar with these, or should I seek someone with proficiency specifically in real estate?  I've done initial consultations with a couple now, and my impression is they do not seem expert in the above areas or perhaps completely unfamiliar.

@Nathan G., for the three specific areas you mentioned above, you will most likely need to find a CPA that specializes in real estate, and you've come to the right place. There are 20 or so accountants very active here on BP that specialize in real estate, and could probably answer any questions. Alternatively, you can post your questions here on the forum, and see what they all have to say.
