Renting or flipping properties in San Antonio?

I’m looking to invest in real estate and was wondering which is better, to buy to rent out or flipping properties in the San Antonio area?

I agree with the other posts as well in terms of goals.  Most of my clients start flipping and then with the proceeds, they purchase cash flow homes.  There are also alot of financing options to help leverage your funds, even with cash flows you can get in for as little as 3 points down.

I prefer to buy and hold, but like @Brandon Miller said, it really depends on your goals. It may help to talk through your options with a realtor, so that you can see what margins you would have realistically on the flipping side vs buying and holding. Depends on your goals. If you want to build long-term wealth and create passive income, renting would be the route to take. If you want a big payday more short term, then flip. Many people do both. Some areas are better for one strategy than the other. San Antonio is an appreciating market as a whole right now, so getting in before things get too high is key. In my opinion, I lean more towards buying and holding property. Call me some time.
