How do you get around the Realtor/Investor dilemma?

Hello everyone. I am interested in purchasing rental properties, but my question is, when you're using a Realtor who also invests themselves, while it's beneficial that your Realtor knows and understands what an investor wants, the Realtors who are investor-friendly are often investors themselves.  So how do you get around them keeping the best deals for themselves?  How can you be sure you're getting a chance with good deals while having a Realtor that understands the investor perspective?  Just trying to see what everyone else out there does.  TIA.

I’ve seen this question often and always think it’s such a silly question....

First, the investor-agent can’t buy All the best deals anyway.  And besides, if you don’t use that agent, he’s still going to buy whatever deals he can/wants to anyway, and send the rest to His clients....you surely won’t see them then.

Hi Jenelle,

In my case, my realtor is an investor but has different investing goals so we are not after the same things.

Even if you/your realtor were after the same properties, depending on if the realtor sees value investing their time into you, or even if you could help them out in some way with their properties, maybe an opportunity could arise that they would pass along a deal to you that doesn't exactly meet their plans or you could partner, etc.

All this being situation dependent but hope this helps.
