Insight into expanding existing units into attic Hammond Indiana?

Question

Any one with experience adding a dormer to a property in Hammond Indiana? I'm looking at an off market deal with a 3bed/1bath on the first floor and a 2bed/1bath and 1bed/1bath on the second floor.  Huge open attic above the second floor, thinking that I could add 2-3 bedrooms upstairs if I can dormer the attic and duplex the second floor units into the attic space. Any insight would be welcome.

You will need to convert to a single family home I closing on 526 Locust for $195k Friday .It was a multi unit I converted to sfh. Erik was realtor on both projects! We are setting the bar in Hammond higher..

Justin, I figured they wouldn't allow an increase in units but this is already a legal 3 unit. I'm just wondering if I can increase the unit size.

It’s highly unlikely Hammond will allow this to be a legal 2 unit from the sound of things. They are firmly against this type of conversion.
