Florida Overseas Investment, things to think about?

We are looking to purchase our first investment property. We know and love Orlando and have visited many times. As we are UK citizens we are not up to scratch with the tax/costs that you have with a property out there. If anyone could give us any advice for us to consider before proceeding it would be great.
