Should You use a real estate agent That works for PM you use?

Hello, I was wondering If I should use a real estate agent (to buy the rental property) that works for the same company has the property manager I plan on using? Or should I use a agent from a different company to make sure everyone stay's honest and doesn't try to over charge. Thanks

If you are buying a house most of the time the seller pays the real estate agent so I wouldn't worry about it.

@Matt Arden If you go into the home buying process prepared and you know the market, etc it shouldn’t matter what listings they show you because the deals will either work for you or they won’t. Trust your market and property research and pull the trigger when the right opportunity presents itself. Best of luck!

@Matt Arden  They could show you one of their properties, but they should disclose that to you.  The one I bought was actually one of their listings and they made it clear when they showed it and again when I put the offer in.  I knew what other units had sold for, so I knew what I wanted to pay and they were good.  They did show me other properties and all would have been good.

@Matt Arden  As Logan said in most cases the seller pays the realtors' commissions.  This is written into the purchase agreement.  I bought one of my rentals through my PM.  If it is their own listing, and really even if it isn't, you want to make sure you do your homework and look at the comps to make sure you are not overpaying for the property.
