Can FHA Loans be used for investment properties?

I went to my bank and was curious as to if I could get an FHA loan for an investment property house. I was told that I couldn't get the FHA loan because it was going to be used for an investment property. I'm so confused. They told me I can only get one for a primary residence only. So I can't get an FHA loan for my investment property house? Please help, thank you!
