VA Home Loan in a hot market

I am wondering if anyone has tips or tricks for utilizing a VA home loan while a market is hot. I recently had an offer get rejected for a cash offer 20k less than my offer because of the perception of VA home loans being more difficult on the sellers. I am wondering what education needs to be done for listing agents regarding the VA home loan or if in a hot market, a VA loan is just difficult to use. Is the only option to offer more than asking? Obviously cash is preferred whenever possible, but I am open to any strategies or ideas other investors might have. Using the VA home loan is a great $0 down option for fellow veterans, it would be nice for veterans to be able to use this benefit when doing a Househack or BRRRR. I'd like to encourage more of my friends to follow this path but seems like everyone I know in a hot market is having trouble landing a home right now.
