REI in Augusta Ga with or without RE License?

Question

Hello! I generally want to know if there is anyone with good... or bad experiences with real estate investing with a real estate license. I’ve already obtained my GA RE license but it is currently inactive (due to family matters I had to focus on last year). Should I go active again? I have read both sides as far as it being a hindrance and being an advantage. I know that picking an investor friendly broker is important but highly doubt the broker I was under before would support this. Thoughts? Advice?

I have been  a real estate investors for ten years now and do not have my license. I decided not to get a license and become an agent because I wanted to have a team of agents that I could work with to find and close deals. I can't do it all myself and I have met plenty of agents in Augusta that are far better at it then I ever would be.

Hey!! I’m new to the forum. I let my license lapse as well and was thinking of reinstating it to use for flips. Technically, I wouldn’t be the seller by my s/o will. Great information!

@Zynita Blackburn Geez. Just realized I butchered your name. I’m sorry! Yeah, just less restrictions and there are realtors in Augusta who or is like in working with investors that you can partner with.

@Kenneth Mooney thank you. I’ve really been trying to weight the pros and cons of having it. I don’t want the restrictions that can come along with it since Realtors are held to a higher standard. I’ve been leaning towards letting the license go.

@Zynita Blackburn hey Zuniga, if I could do it over again I probably wouldn’t have mine. Just too many things I personally don’t feel comfortable doing with a license. You’ve got to disclose to all potential buyers, etc.
