Smart Water Meters systems**

This is my first post and could use some help.  i have a 4 mulit family and a number of duplexes which currently i have been paying the water on for all tenants.  All of my properties have one master water meter that i pay the bill.  For most months its fairly consistent however there are times when the toilet flows and they don't tell u that the flapper is not properly sealing.  Quite the shock when the quarterly bill is 3X or more than what it has been in the past and really kills your profits.   I sure everyone in the rental buiz knows exactly what i am taking about and the pain it causes.  But from the tenants perspective, "who cares, i am not paying for it".  little do they realize how much it can cost.

Anyways i am starting to look into smart water metering so i can divide the quarterly bill and allocate it towards their water usage.  looking for a solution that can give you data remotely with out the need to physically check the water meters.  does anyone have any experience  in these systems?  looking for some help to choose a cost effective solution that i can use for smaller multi family properties.   any advice is appreciated.
