Novice from Huntsville / Madison, AL

Greetings everyone!

My name is Dave O'Brien and I currently live in Madison, AL. I am an aerospace engineer by trade and am fortunate to love what I do for a living. I am currently married to my college sweet heart and we are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl.

Real estate investing piqued my interest because of the great mortgage rates that currently exist, relatively low housing prices, and the fact that my dad has owned an investment property for quite a few years. My dad has also passed on a wealth of information from his days in construction and as an insurance adjustor, which would be definitely be applicable to real estate.

I was originally introduced to BiggerPockets by everyone's friend in search: Google. Seriously though, when I was doing my preliminary research, I found that almost all of my real estate questions always returned a BiggerPockets link, so I decided that this is the place that I needed to be.

I've already read through the BiggerPockets Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing and loved it. Based on what I read and my own personal preferences, I'll most likely follow the "Buy and Hold" strategy with Single Family Homes and Duplexes / Triplexes / Quads.

I look forward to interacting with the BiggerPockets community in the coming months.
