Hire a real estate agent to rent SFH

Aiesha Hooper
Posted

Greetings!

I am about to move out of my SFH and was wondering ...how do I go about advertising my home to rent. Should I hire a Sellers agent to list it on MLS or should I just go about finding a tenant myself? If so, how can I advertise my SFH to attract potential tenants?

Thank you in advance!

Aiesha,

While you can certainly rent it out yourself, if you have the knowledge, ( leases/laws/screening/ collecting rent) etc. you may be better off getting a property manager or an agent that has experience help you through this proccess.

When we started out, i took a class offered by a local school district on rental property management that was very helpful.

If you plan on doing it your self, get educated on the process first.

Best of luck!
