North Texas - New to Investment Properties

Hey all, I live around the Wichita Falls area in North Texas and my wife and I are going to be purchasing our first rental property in the next few months. I've done a lot of reading and have spoke with many who have rental properties about the pros and cons. The few things I am still uncertain of are:

1. Whether or not my wife and I should get an LLC?

2. Best price range in our area? I think I've seen someone else comment anything below 150k is best for our area. I could be wrong.

3. I also really would love to have multi-family homes at some point. Trying to decide if I should start with a single family home or jump into a duplex or beyond?

I do plan on having a property manager, which I know is a debate in itself, but I think that would be best for our family at this time.

Any other advice is welcome.

Thanks,

Blayne
