Investing in Wisconsin and Indiana

Posted

Hi Everyone!

My name is Alex, I’m from Southern California and I am a newbie in real estate investing. I purchased a duplex near my home town about a year ago and I am currently house hacking.

I am starting my journey in investing out of state since California is pretty expensive. I narrowed down some cities down to Terre Haute, Indiana and Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

I would love to get some feedback from real estate professionals or investors who currently invest in those areas.

What are some areas to avoid?

Has the rental market been stable there?

Are there any red flags to keep an eye out for?

Thank you!

Interested to hear how you landed on Sheboygan, being from CA.  Its a good smaller market.  I personally prefer some of the tertiary markets closer to Milwaukee.  West Allis, Wauwatosa, Cudahy, Butler..to name a few.
