Anybody have experience with CALIBER HOME LOANS (MD/VA/DC/FL)?

Question

I am thinking of requesting a mortgage loan with a lender (other than traditional bank) and my agent recommended CALIBER HOME LOANS servicing MD/VA/DC/FL. I would like to know if anybody has experience working with this lender. Thanks for your help!

Caliber is just another mortgage bank. What matters really is your person at it. If your Realtor suggested that person, they're probably pretty good! Your Realtor probably isn't in the habit of sending clients to people who suck... that wouldn't be a good business model.

I used Caliber for a complex 203K loan so it had construction draws and a HUD Consultant and many moving parts. Caliber is actually well-equipped for the task which is very unusual. It was even the first time for my usual mortgage guy and he's been in the business for 30 years. That was in New Jersey at the end of 2019 so it's freshly in my memory. They had a website interface for the 203K loan progress and checklists for things that needed to be inspected for draws. I had access to a representative in San Francisco who was responsive to me. I recommend them.

Not in MD/VA/DC/FL but used them with a personal home VA Loan in Indiana.  They were great to work with and I would use them again.
