18 year old, can I get into real estate successfully?

Question

I look younger and am in the process of growing out my facial hair. I have a strong passion and determination to make it in the real estate business. Can I be successful, given how young I look? (and being so young?) I already have an amazing mentor and know I will do big things.

Age has nothing to do with anything. Although there are always times someone won't trust you because of your age, gender, etc. Humans are humans after all - we have had clients refuse to work with me because I am a woman. We fire 'em I am the owner of our company and will only work with clients that respect that.

As others have said, age is not a determining factor in your path to success in real estate. I do think older sellers will have a harder time listing with someone so young, but that's not your bag on the way in. If you are young and look young, you make sure you are extra prepared on knowledgeable on your local market. Does someone want to work with someone who is in their 30s, but sounds like they just got out of bed and didn't prepare or a young-looking person who is ahead of the curve? Get ahead of the curve.
