Multi Family Investing in DFW (Good Agent, Best Area?)
Good evening BiggerPockets Family,
I am a newbie to Real Estate Investing and somewhat new to the DFW area. My family and I recently relocated here from Japan (after a 3-year stint). We currently reside in Arlington and are looking to purchase a Multi-Family property (as our first home/first investment) in the next 6 months. Does anyone out there have any recommendations on good areas to invest in or know a high-powered, experienced real estate agent who can assist? - Hey! Here are some things that could help you find an area where you are that would be considered a good market to invest in-
- 1. Population over 200,000
- 2. Long-term population growth of at least 50% of the national average (preferably more)
- 3. Diverse economy
- 4. Labor participation rate at or above national average
- 5. High relative cap rates
- 6. Pro-business, pro-landlord climate
- 7. Limited risk from climate change
- 8. Close enough to home for you to oversee easily (one-day round-trip preferred)
- 9. “Anchor” is a bonus – not necessary, but great to have. Avoid bad anchors, though
