Do small private landlords qualify for a PPP loan?
Hello
I am tired of hearing and reading about stimulus checks and all sorts of assistance for tenants (especially deadbeats who are collecting all the stimulus and funds but not paying rent to their landlords). Do small landlords (1-2 ppty owner) qualify to get a PPP loan if the tenant has stopped paying rent for months and refuses to vacate and/or pay rent?? I have a tenant in TX who hasn't paid in 4 months and refuses to vacate either. I cannot afford to keep paying mortgage out of my own pocket....where is the help for us???
Please advise of any resource....

You could always purse more "aggressive" tactics. Though all my stuff is in Houston and we've been able to evict almost anyone who doesn't pay. And the ones that are able to scam the system -- we have 'alternatives'
BUT... If you have a 3rd party management company you're kinda hosed. They'll just sit back and follow the letter of the law. It's not worth doing anything different when it's not their $ on the line.
I'll tell you this: If this were my one property and someone was refusing to leave and it could cost me my life savings -- I'd fly down, kick in the door, and toss their stuff out. In the early days I had managers tell me "The dude in unit #3 isn't leaving. He said go ahead and call the cops". I'd see red. My heart would start racing... And I'd go and take care of it myself.
Hell even recently, I was driving by a vacant building I own, I saw someone sneek in (we've had a problem with vagrants) and that same thing happened to me. I just saw red. I went in and started screaming "where are you mother@#$#. You better run. I'm going to kill you if I find you". I actually recorded it. I think another guy from BP was meeting me at the property, came in after I had gone in, and heard me yelling. He's like "Dude, hey, I'm here. It's just me" lol
Yeah, I'll admit I can be short tempered at this stuff but I view it the same was as if someone broke into my house and stole money from my family. It's no different. They're stealing from your family.
