Rental Assistant Living in Maryland

Hello BP family. Is there anyone that could give a little insight on transforming a single family home into an assistant living facility? A family member moved out and we want to keep the property so we were thinking of turning it into a RAL. But we don't really know where to start. any info would be appreciated. :)
