NW Florida Monthly Vacation Rentals

(I hope this question isn't inappropriate for this forum; if so, I'll remove it.) 

Does anyone know if there are vacation rental property owners -- specifically Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL or NW Florida -- who would rent for a month to six weeks, say from the beginning of May through the first or second week of June? 

We're planning for retirement and will most likely settle in Texas (home) but like the idea of spending 4-6 weeks near the beach, and possibly another week again in the fall. We're considering investing in a vacation rental, but in the beginning we'd like to find and connect with a property owner that would let us rent once or twice to get a feel for what we want, and where.

Most management companies are only offering rentals for a few days up to a couple of weeks. I'm having difficulty finding options for renting for 4-6 weeks. 

Any info or advice would be appreciated.
