Knocking out back (brick) wall of kitchen for remodel
I'm looking at remodeling the kitchen at my Washington, DC, rowhouse by knocking out the back wall of the kitchen and expanding it into the sunroom that was added at the back by a previous owner. The wall I'd be removing is brick -- the original outside back wall of the house.
Anyone know if that wall being the original brick makes this project cost- and complexity-prohibitive? I'd be hiring someone to do this, not doing it myself.

What he ^^^^ said. More simply put, you'll probably need to install a new support system to replace the wall you're tearing out. This means drawings, engineering and permits. You're looking at $5k just to get started. But it can be done....
