Traveling for work and don't know where to go

I am a wanna be investor. I have done no deals. I've only seen a few homes with a realtor. The issue I'm having is that I am starting part-time and I travel quite a bit for my full-time job. So I can't see any homes during the week in my area.

I've done enough book reading to know that it would be unwise to quit my job and do real estate full-time now. So that's not an option right now. However, given that I travel each week, and only have the weekends, what are some good ways to start?

Wholesaling? Bird-dogging? I guess I can always find a realtor who can preview a number of homes for me during the week, and weed out the really bad ones. But how do I find such a realtor willing to do this for a new investor?
