Condo STR's in Fort Lauderdale

Hi All! I'm from NYC and in the process of looking for a STR property in Fort Lauderdale, FL that I can also use from time to time. I was in FL last month looking at houses, but nothing really stood out to me and I'd really like to consider condos in my search, but I keep reading that most condo's do not allow str, as well as dealing with hoa challenges. At the same time I'm also still seeing hosts advertising condos on airbnb/vrbo. So my question..Is anyone here successfully running condo str's in the Fort Lauderdale area and would you recommend it? If any realtors that special in vacation rentals can assist I'd love to chat. I'm planning in to make another trip to FL in a few weeks. Thanks in advance!
