New to BP and real estate investing

Hey everyone! Brand new to everything here. My wife and I own and live in Ventura, CA, but looking to by SFRs to invest in. Birmingham, AL seems to jump out at us and we are going for it. Just pulled out $20k of an investment account for a down payment and am trying to educate myself as much as possible for diving in.
