Do y’all make your renters show proof of renters insurance before you will allow them to rent your properties?

Absolutely and no exceptions. Get included on the policy as an 'additional interest'. That way you get notified if policy lapses.

Hey @Steven Barr Yes, always. We ask them to obtain proof of renter's insurance as soon as the lease agreement has been signed. I know of several landlords that also request proof of insurance before the lease can be signed.
