I have family who invests there. Significant capex because of older buildings and legislative risk. If it's not your home base, not worth it IMO.

I live in France and I have purchased 5 properties (and sold 1) in my city since 2014. I live near Luxembourg and my district is a nice place to find great tenants who work in Luxembourg and make a decent salary that cover 4-5x times your rent.

Why would someone living in a fiscal paradise (HK) invest in the most tax hellish country (FR) on earth is beyond my understanding. When it comes to investing it is important to not involve emotions and look at the facts

I look at the global markets on a daily basis and would invest all day in HK rather than France for the years to come

For the moment I only own a single family house in Britanny but I am planning to buy a multi-family this coming year. I have been reading a lot about real estate and the specific characteristics of the French market especially about new laws that were introduced this year. Do you speak or can read French? Hello Jessica, I recently relocated to Lyon from SF and beginning my real estate journey in here. There are some good incentives for investing here, one being interest rates are very low right now. However, there is not much appreciation outside of specific growth markets like Lyon, Paris, Coastal Southern France, etc. That being said people are finding opportunities for good cash flow, the person I'm currently renting from has 30 doors in Lyon.

Hi Taylor, thank you for your post. You're absolutely right, I am investing remotely. The only difference is that my husband is French and we have family over there. Our first property investment is in France and we know the area (South Brittany - West France)...so if we go back to FR we can manage the properties ourselves.

I'm curious what interests you about investing in France? If you're based in HK you'll be investing remotely anyway, why not invest in the US?
