serving petition 10-17 days before court are weekends counted?

i have court october 13. Do i count saturdays and sundays in the 10-17 days before court? Or just week days? or do saturdays count but not sundays? I am drawing a blank for some reason when I knew it for my last eviction and corrected my lawyer which now got me confused.
