Tenant Went to Jail - House hacking

Hey everyone,

I'm currently house hacking and I just found out that one of my tenants went to jail last month (and will be away for a long long time...)

When can I legally throw away his stuff?
I have his last month's payment from the original first/last/security that I received, so that will cover the month of September that he was delinquent. He is now, as of October 1st, one-month delinquent. I read somewhere that after 15 day's it is considered abandoned property. Is that true?

Details:

Property is in Florida

He was paying month-to-month with no lease (the previous lease expired and I was planning on selling the house, so I didn't want to lock him in)
